Dr. Jennifer Mooney on Car Seat Safety

On Thursday, February 25, 2016, officials with Kergan Bros. Sonic presented a check to UMCNO’s Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force for the purchase of nearly 1,000 child safety seats for Louisiana families in need. Dr. Jennifer Mooney, trauma surgeon at UMCNO, spoke at the check presentation about the type of trauma caused by improper child restraints. We caught her for a private interview directly after the event.

Families in need throughout the state can sign up for free seats at The Louisiana Passenger Safety Task Force, run by the UMC New Orleans Level 1 Trauma Program, will then purchase and distribute the child safety seats based on family needs.
