Oklahoma City Doctor Kersi Bharucha Pleads Guilty to Sexual Battery of 4 Patients Free Consultations For Survivors of Doctor Sexual Assault: (866) 577-2786
The Oklahoma City doctor accused of sexually assaulting multiple patients has pleaded guilty to sexual battery. Dr. Kersi Bharucha will spend five years in a Department of Corrections Facility and another five under DOC supervision as part of a plea agreement with state prosecutors.
Bharucha was arrested on a complaint of sexual battery in March 2016. A patient accused him of sexually assaulting her on the fifth floor of the OU Physicians building in Oklahoma City. The incident occurred in October of 2015.
Three additional women came forward with allegations of sexual abuse by Bharucha, with the earlier happening in October 2008. One of the victims told police that Bharucha had sexually assaulted her four times.
Abuse Guardian is a national alliance of sexual abuse victims attorneys. Our attorneys have backgrounds as sex crimes prosecutors. Today, we represent survivors of sexual assault in civil lawsuits and are currently representing survivors of sexual abuse by doctors.
Patients should be able to expect that their doctors will treat them with respect. But sadly, there have been reports of doctors sexually abusing patients in all 50 states. When this happens, it’s important for the patient to be aware of their legal rights.
In many cases of sexual abuse by medical professionals, the patients have the right to file a lawsuit. A claim could potentially be brought against the doctor, their employer, or both, depending on the circumstances of the case.
