Deborah Gray White and Robert Patterson on Race, Slavery and Institutional Memory

In this workshop at the College of the Holy Cross, Deborah Gray White, Board of Governors Distinguished Professor of History at Rutgers University, and Robert Patterson, associate professor and chair of African American Studies at Georgetown University, share how their institutions of higher learning are reckoning with their difficult histories, in particular in relation to enslavement and justice. Holy Cross history professor Stephanie Yuhl establishes context by reviewing Holy Cross's efforts to date to address its ties to slavery. Associate professor of English and Africana Studies, Nadine Knight, moderates the Q&A.
